Welcome to
Alt Dressage

Kyla Sneddon

Alt Dressage is a training and lesson program based out of WoodMyst Farms in Gilroy, California, owned and operated by Kyla Sneddon.

At its core, the program is built around a simple idea: good riding starts with understanding what’s happening in and underneath your body. Kyla teaches riders how to notice, interpret, and influence their horses with clarity. Her approach is rooted in biomechanics, responsiveness, and the development of correct basics that hold up over time.

A central part of that philosophy is creating riders who are a responsible, effective body in the saddle. From Intro through the upper levels, the focus remains the same: building awareness, feel, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions that positively influence the horse.

While many riders come to Alt Dressage to build a foundation or transition into dressage, the goal extends beyond the lower levels. Correct basics are developed as a system, something riders can continue to refine and rely on as they progress in their training and competition goals.

Kyla if a USDF Silver Medalist, and regularly competes on the recognized show circuit. She works consistently with USDF Gold medalists along with internationally competitve clinicians, and is committed to continuing education both in and out of the show ring. She has a particular interest in helping riders develop solid and dependable basics, even when it doesn’t come naturally at first.

In addition to riding and training, a high standard of horse care is a central part of the program. That same level of thoughtfulness carries into how the program is run. Clear communication, organization, and consistency are priorities, creating an environment where clients feel informed, supported, and able to focus on their riding.

Alt Dressage works with riders across disciplines, and welcomes those who are curious, motivated, and interested in developing a deeper understanding of their horses and their riding.
